Interventional Pain Diagnostics and Management:

Diagnostic imaging studies (ie: MRI, CT scan , X-rays) are very sensitive and suggestive but unable to tell us where your pain is coming from. This can result in making the incorrect diagnosis and providing the wrong treatment. Interventional Pain Diagnostics and Management Services are used to confirm where your pain is coming from, make the right diagnosis and treat the source of pain effectively. Special imaging devises, ( ie fluoroscopy, ultrasound, etc) can be used to target a suspected pain generator ( muscle, joint or nerve ) responsible for causing your pain. Once the pain generator is identified, a powerful anti-inflammatory medication is injected that may provide weeks or months of pain relief, thereby decreasing the risk of side effects that may occur with daily oral medication use.
